VoidPlayer XR Privacy Policy
Effective: October 9, 2026
VoidPlayer XR ("the App") is a video player for Android XR provided by guix8 ("the Developer"). The App does not run its own servers and does not send your video files, viewing history or favorites to the Developer. This policy explains what information the App handles and where.
1. Automatically collected information (Firebase Crashlytics)
- When the App crashes or hits a playback error, the following is sent to Google Firebase Crashlytics to improve stability.
- Error reports (stack traces), device model and OS version, app version, and a random installation identifier created by Crashlytics.
- Technical video details for diagnosing playback errors: file extension, source type (device, network, etc.), 3D format, resolution, codecs, file size and playback state.
- We do not intentionally collect file names, file paths, video content, viewing history, favorites, names, email addresses or location. Error messages generated by the playback engine may occasionally contain technical details such as a stream address.
2. Information stored only on your device
- App settings (display, subtitles, picture adjustments, panels, gestures), recently played items and playback positions, favorites and per-video settings.
- Network server details you enter: SMB, FTP, WebDAV and Jellyfin server addresses, usernames, passwords and access tokens. Passwords and tokens are encrypted with AES-256/GCM using the Android KeyStore.
- This information is never sent to the Developer; it is sent only to the server you specify when the App connects to it.
3. Network features
- SMB, FTP, WebDAV, Jellyfin and DLNA playback connect your device directly to servers you specify or that are found on your local network. The Developer cannot see this traffic.
- To find DLNA servers, the App sends discovery (multicast) messages on your local network.
4. In-app support purchases (Google Play Billing)
- Optional "Support the developer" purchases are processed by Google Play Billing. Google handles your payment details; the Developer does not receive them.
- The App receives only the purchase status from Google Play to confirm a purchase.
5. Use and sharing
- Information is used only to analyze errors, improve stability and process support purchases. It is never sold or used for advertising.
- Processor: Google LLC (USA) — Firebase Crashlytics (error reports, device info) and Google Play Billing (support purchases), under the Google Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy) and Firebase privacy information (firebase.google.com/support/privacy).
6. Retention and deletion
- Crashlytics error reports are kept under Google's retention policy and deleted after 90 days by default.
- On-device data is removed when you uninstall the App. You can clear the cache in Settings › General › Clear cache.
- Crashlytics error reports don't identify you, so there is no separate deletion-request process; they are deleted automatically when the retention period ends.
7. Children
- The App is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information.
8. Security
- Server passwords and tokens are encrypted with AES-256/GCM using the Android KeyStore, app data is isolated by the Android app sandbox, and communication with Firebase is encrypted with HTTPS.
9. Changes
- If this policy changes, we will post it on this page and update the effective date. Significant changes will be announced in an app update.
- Previous version: effective March 2, 2026. This revision adds WebDAV and Jellyfin server support, in-app support purchases and the list of technical video details collected, and updates the contact details.
